In The Future is the lastest album by Black Mountain – a Canadian group of social workers by day, faithful followers of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath (with maybe a touch of My Morning Jacket) by night.
I’ve been listening to their self-titled debut for a few months now and have enjoyed the hell out of it. Their new album runs the gamut of country-laced track “Stay Free” to prog-rock tune “Bright Lights”. Amber Weber exhibits some serious Grace Slick vibes on a the spooky “Queens Will Play”.
I know I’m not the first person to say these guys are keeping the torch of Zeppelin and Sabbath alive, but I’ll be damned if anybody says they aren’t. Just like some of their contemporaries, My Morning Jacket, Wolfmother and Kings of Leon – they’ve got this Rock ‘n’ Roll thing down to a science.
