So I need to find a DJ for the wedding before Jackie gets mad at me. We’re right about 3months away from the big day and I’ve yet to talk to any prospective DJ’s. Personally, I’d rather not get one, but as with anything wedding related, it’s more about peace-of-mind than anything else. Let the guy do his thing, set-up, play some music, and clean up. No fuss. I don’t have an iPod or any easy to use mp3 player for that matter. I don’t have a laptop, so that option is out too.. I was thinking of having my friend Jeremy put together some mix CDs to play, but then I’d have to bring a stereo to the wedding and I don’t want to deal with that. So DJ it is. Has anyone got any suggestions for hiring a DJ? Questions to ask while talking to them? Horror stories?

Yo – make sure if you don’t want them to play any silly reindeer games, you let them know (i.e. chicken dance, macarena, etc.). Also, if make sure they know the kind of music you’re into and let them know what not to play (i.e. Weird Al Yankovic, Fat Boys, Hansen).
Done (i.e. finished, complete, no more suggestions)

He asks you to come up with a list of songs that you definitely want played, and also of songs that you do not. Let me know….

If I remember correctly, he DJs (or at least did) for that strip club…I’d assume he has all the requisite equipment and all. I would imagine, if he even does that sorta thing, he’d be cheap. I mean, we went to high school with him, and Ed used to play Dungeons and Dragons with him. How much could he charge?
